Almost 10 years in the making, this epic comes in 4 parts: In the first part, our hero bids adieu to his lover back home and boards a train to his training as a soldier and inevitably, his death. He promises her he will return one day. In part two, our hero contemplates life and death and how his military training affects his sense of reality. Part three finds our hero, the soldier, fighting for his life against an enemy not unlike himself, alone in the world and fighting for a cause he does not believe in. The final part climaxes when our hero is mortally wounded and he cries out to the heavens that he wishes things turned out another way and grapples with the fact that this is his unfortunate end.
